This is another example of a 24-hour movie, a film made start to finish in a single 24-hour stretch; a concept I totally love.  It forces the filmmakers to focus on a very specific storyline, and often leads, in my experience, to better films than many projects which are conceived of, shot and edited over a period of months.

This film doesn't aspire to be profound and life-changing, like so much of the shlocky melodrama you get to see in film school. Instead, it effectively establishes a distinct character and an atmosphere, which it follows through a textbook story arc, all in less than three minutes.

The style isn't showy or overbearing.  The use of the handheld camera and the numerous dissolves, as well as the special effects, strike an excellent tonal balance, in my opinion: not too little, not too much.
