I don't quite understand music videos.  The process escapes me... how to make visual the experience of a song, without resorting to banal shots of the band lip-synching in some exotic location.

The highest compliment I can pay Jamieson is that this film makes me want to go out and shoot super-8.  Right now.  There's a fluidity, a fluency, to his use of the camera, where he goes and what he sees, that just looks fun and exciting.

And as far as the song, I think he's done a good job of capturing the juxtaposition of a fairly baroque sensibility with a driving, urgent beat behind it, propelling it forward.

Makes me want to go out and buy the album, too.
