I'm not the best judge of my own work, especially where this type of piece is concerned.  But, I've had some very positive feedback on this film, and I sure like it, for whatever that's worth.

Here's all I'm going to say: "Violence and Drums" is an extended metaphor, and an argument of juxtaposition.

Beyond that, it will have to speak for itself.

Kevin is an awfully modest filmmaker, which makes his films endearing in their lack of pretention, a rarity in the vast wasteland of student work.

Here, the star of 'violence and drums' is not the drummer, (albeit amazing in his own right) but the camerawork: anything less creative might look like a pratice tape. Luckily, kevin wields the lens in enough interesting ways for the film to transcend what the subject matter is. Pretty fucking cool, i say.
